Ummm.... I was wondering......
« on: October 20, 2006, 09:07:24 pm »
Can I submit a time I got on Radical City Single Lap for Sonic R? This might sound like a stupid request but I was doing Time Attack and all of a sudden when I jumped after the river shortcut, I went to the upper level and passed the starting line with a very small time. May I?

Umm... I don't know of any rule that disallows it.  What is the lap time?

Current rules (should) state that you have to use GP mode. Time Attack Reverse will be added as a separate category eventually (read: when Rolken actually gets around to it), but for now you should hold off submitting.

So you're saying he shouldn't submit it at all?  He said he used Time Attack, not Time Attack Reverse.

As far as I know, that only works in Reverse. Besides which, did you not read where I said that GP was the only mode that could be used for now?

Sorry, I forgot it was in Time Attack Reverse. Anyway I'll hold off submitting it until Rolken puts it up.

Hopefully your total time for the 3 laps was under a minute too <_<
Did you not think I had a mind?

Last time I checked the individual games rules (about a week ago) there was no section for Sonic R at all. It confused me as to what times to put down when I submitted all my times, I know I submitted a Resort Island Forwards TA time (Single and 3 Lap) until I found a new tactic only on GP mode and beat my best time by miles and updated it.

Are you sure it has to be GP mode? It's not in the rules, and I thought everyone submitted
time attack times for RI 3-lap. (Right now, the rules still say TA mode has to be used,
but there's obviously an exception for Sonic R.) But anyway, it's all forward, not reverse.

That glitch probably will be allowed, along with any other glitches that might be used/found
(unless they're really cheap). I wonder if my outside-the-walls glitch (also RC) could be of any use.

If Time Attack mode has to be used for all the levels, then nearly every single time will have to be deleted and re-submitted. Radient Emerald for example takes about 30 seconds longer to complete due to not being able to use ring shortcuts. In all the WR videos for Sonic R, GP mode is always being used.

You have a point there...

HAS NOBODY LISTENED TO A WORD I SAID?

In Sonic R you use GP MODE ONLY until further notice.

I was listening. :D

Anyway, the rules need to be fixed. So do SA's. There are things I already suggested, but I forget what they were.
And I'm pretty sure TA mode has already been used by many players on one course.
